This is a deciduous shrub belonging to the Euonymus genus in the Celastraceae family, bred as a hybrid between Mayumi (Euonymus alatus) and Tsuribana (Euonymus oxyphyllus). It features leaf shapes and flowers resembling Mayumi, while its flowering period and fruit characteristics are like those of Tsuribana.

It can be grown in sunny places as well as in partial shade. Water thoroughly when the surface soil dries out. Especially during dry summer periods or when drought stress is a concern, provide adequate watering.

    Leaves:
Similar to Mayumi, the leaf blades are long-elliptic, measuring about 6 to 15 cm in length.

    Flowers:
The flowers resemble Tsuribana’s, with five petals and colors ranging from greenish-white to pale purple.

    Fruits:
Like Tsuribana, the fruits are spherical and split into five parts when ripe, exposing bright red-orange seeds.

    Autumn foliage:
Leaves turn red in the fall.

Around the end of summer, mountain trees bear fruit all at once. The red Mayumi is a popular tree.

Although this plant shows more beautiful autumn foliage in sunny locations, avoid areas exposed to strong midsummer sunlight, harsh west-facing sun, or intense reflected heat from concrete, as these conditions can cause leaf scorch or weaken the plant.

Size: Height 42 cm / Width 50 cm
