"Subtle Intimacy" is the work of internationally acclaimed glass artist Rui Sasaki.

The plants are collected and fired between sheets of glass, so that they turn to ash inside the glass, but the bubbles and moisture emitted by the plants are also preserved in the glass. For this project, five kinds of rice plants collected from Kiyoshi Kamikou, a farmer in Ehime Prefecture, were used to create this work. Please take a closer look at the microscopic world that traps the moment when the rice plants were alive.
