We’ve entered the season of Sankirai, known for its round, vibrant green berries.
Most domestic Sankirai in Japan is actually grown in Tokyo—
Surprising, right? But not from the city itself—from the Tokyo Islands, which are famous for producing Sankirai of exceptional quality.
In fact, we believe this is the most beautiful Sankirai in the world.

This refreshing basket features that very Sankirai, paired generously with clematis—another early summer highlight.

Sankirai, also known in Japanese as "Sarutori-ibara", is a native wild plant long familiar to people in Japan.
Clematis too, once called “Kazaguruma” or “Tessen” in Japan, is a flowering vine with deep roots in our natural landscape.
Now celebrated worldwide as the “Queen of Climbers,” clematis comes in many cultivated varieties.

We hope you’ll enjoy these two traditional, close-to-home plants brought together in perfect seasonal harmony for early summer.
